Position Summary:
The FBO Manager oversees all aspects of the Fixed Base Operations, ensuring exceptional service for private and commercial aviation clients. This role involves managing staff, maintaining facility standards, and enhancing customer experiences.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the FBO, including fueling, handling, hangar services, and customer support;
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and European aviation regulations, airport procedures and safety protocols;
- Recruit, train, and manage all FBO staff;
- Develop schedules, manage resources effectively and oversee performance evaluations;
- Ensure the information regarding Holidays, overtime and other employee information is up-to-date and accurate;
- Mentor, motivate, and supervise employees working at the FBO;
- Increase and maintain the employee engagement to avoid and deflect staff churn;
- Assist in the preparation and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and operational reports;
- Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure site profitability and achieve budgetary targets;
- Maintain the FBO facilities, ensuring cleanliness and operational readiness;
- Coordinate and supervise the periodic maintenance of GSE to minimize operational downtime;
- Take responsibility for effective communication at all levels, both internally and externally;
- Promote FBO services to potential clients and develop marketing strategies;
- Establish and foster partnerships with local businesses and aviation-related services;
- Implement and uphold safety standards in all operational activities of the FBO;
- Audit and review procedures and practices, ensuring all documentation is kept up to date;
- Ensure all staff provide an exemplary level of service to all customers, whether passengers, crews, or visitors of the FBO;
- Implement and/or update operational procedures and safety policies for handling of aircraft;
- Lead a team of experienced staff, ensuring they are motivated, well informed, and disciplined;
- Act as an extension and under the strict guidance of the Senior Director Site Operations for the day-to-day business FBO;
- Deputize the Senior Director Site Operations as needed or requested;
- Other tasks as requested, related to the general operations and site management.
Qualifications and Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, Business Administration, or a related field;
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant/similar work experience;
- Strong technical knowledge or Operational background;
- Clear demonstration and experience in leading and managing a team of 20+ staff;
- Capacity to adapt to challenging, fast–moving environment, with changing priorities and a heavy workload;
- Excellent knowledge of both Dutch and English languages, at a minimum; other languages is a plus;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Customer service mentality, positive, can-do attitude;
- Act as an Ambassador of the Jet Aviation brand;
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and to set priorities / taking initiatives when needed;
- Entrepreneurial mind-set.
